If you want to climb the second in hight hill of the Black Forest, the Belchen (1414 m) or if you want to cross the former frontier between old Austria and Baden - there are lots of opportunities for walking-tours around of Böllen with signed ways.
There is almost never fog in Böllen and if you are lucky, you can see the Alps' panorama on one of your walking-tours. In autumn you can collect fresh mushrooms and berries in the wood.
You can reach the big skiing area of Feldberg in half an hour by car, and there are some ski-lifts also near Böllen.

In summer you can go swimming in the Nonnenmattweiher with its healthy mud-water. In Schönau (8 km) there is a heated swimming pool with miniature golf. There you find also a tennis-court and a golf-links.
In Schönau there are also all shopping opportunities you need and a weekly market.
Day trips to Switzerland, Alsace and to Freiburg are possible.
